Explore opportunities to innovate and collaborate with other local producers in the Wakool & Murray River Area
Background
At the beginning of 2021, we brought together a group of local food producers to scope out if there was interest in establishing a regional food network group. The meeting established that the group were keen to form a Food Network Group with with our assistance.
The opportunity to build the region's reputation as a high quality and diverse food region was one of the aims identified. The group are excited to explore how regional producers could work together to share knowledge and collectively solve collective business challenges such as joint marketing, distribution and supply chain issues. |
Where to now
The group will be looking to leverage some existing opportunities as well as action a number of collective goals. A membership model will be scoped up and the group will then welcome other local producers to join the Food Network Group. Keep an eye out for upcoming events and meetings to see how you can get involved. This year's sessions will be facilitated by Regionality, who specialise in farm innovation strategy, and help producers to understand alternate pathways to market, embrace opportunities and build resilience through diversification and value adding beyond the farm gate. |
