Fifty eight landholders attended the workshop Feeding in Dry Times, held at the Moulamein Bowling Club. The workshop was initiated by the Murray Local Land Services to assist producers in making feeding decisions easier and clearer during the current dry growing season. The Moulamein session was one of three workshops across the Western and Central Murray region.

- what to feed
- meeting stock feed needs
- confinement feeding
- Monitor your stock, if their body condition is declining, they need more feed or feed that is more nutrient dense.
- Wean early, a minimum of 10 weeks in lambs and 3 months in calves as by this age, young stock are consuming more energy and protein from feed than from milk. This reduces the feed requirements of breeding stock as well.
- Set a date for when management decisions will be made regarding selling stock or continuing to feed - consider the economics and state of your stock.
