Roger Knight

Executive Officer

Roger grew up on a citrus orchard near Barham and has worked in a range of natural resource management (NRM), agriculture and food manufacturing functions. Roger's role with WMLIG is to foster relationships and collaboration with stakeholders on programs that support the adaptive capacity of the community. Underpinning this role is his Landcare experience in capacity building, project and contract management. Roger worked at a dairy manufacturing plant at Leitchville, Northern Victoria for 15 years in quality, food safety, food manufacturing, process improvement, wastewater treatment and irrigation re-use, environmental monitoring and systems management.

Rick Ellis

Project Officer:Grazing Technology & Environment Services

Rick has Lifetime (50 + years) experience in pastoral stock work. Co-ordinator of the Central Murray BestWool BestLamb Group since 2012. Held various office bearing and project management roles with a local Landcare and Producer Group, the Western Murray Land Improvement Group (WMLIGH) since 2004.Local industry partner in an Old Man Saltbush grazing research project with the CSIRO. Project Officer for a large grazing and dryland fodder species trial titled, Economically Viable Options for Retired Irrigation Land’. Currently a Project Officer for the WMLIG focusing on community capacity building, grazing management, and environmental rehabilitation. 

Kate O'Neill

Agrisystem Program Strategist

​Kate holds a Bachelor Degree in Urban Planning and has in excess of 13 years of experience working in diverse Government and private sector planning roles. Kates skills and experience include strategic land use planning, development facilitation, feasibility analysis, stakeholder engagement, policy review and project management. 

Laura Kaylock

Project Officer

Laura holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and has 6 years of experience within the industry in roles such as agronomy, farming and project management.  She is passionate about research and investment in the region and is currently a member of the GRDC Rural Cropping Solutions Network & AgriFutures Rice Advisory Panel.
She joined the Western Murray Land Improvement Group (WMLIG) team in 2017 as a project officer with a focus on sustainable agriculture. During this time she has managed research projects, field days, forums and workshops relating to a broad range of agricultural focus areas. ​

Leigh Fletcher

Agrisystem Development Coordinator & Environmental Project Officer

​Leigh has 25 years’ experience incorporating roles in agriculture, manufacturing, and project management.T hese roles have been based around water management providing a comprehensive understanding of irrigation infrastructure, project management, community consultation and contract management. ​

Amy Lolicato

Local Landcare Coordinator

Amy lives and farms in Moulamein NSW with her partner Andrew and two young children.  She holds a Degree in Urban Planning and Development from the University of Melbourne with a focus on social and environmental planning. Amy has a diverse employment background, but most notably worked for a period of five years at the Swan Hill Rural City Council in Statutory Planning and Subdivisions. For the past three years Amy has been farming.  Amy’s key areas of focus are in development assessment, community consultation, policy dissemination, and critical review and analysis.
Amy's role includes the development of policies & practices for key WMLIG projects such as the Pollack Swamp Regeneration Project and general operations of the organisation. Through her role as a Landcare Coordinator trainee, she is strengthening her skills in community engagement and project development to continue supporting the local region into the future. ​

Stacey Waylen

Local Landcare Coordinator

Stacey’s skills and experience include environmental revegetation works with Landcare Aust, strong networking capabilities, business management and administration skills gained at council and rural merchandising businesses. Stacey’s passion and knowledge of environmental reveg-work lead to establishing a Native Tree Species Nursery at Wakool.

Kate Redfearn

Accounts

Kate is a local, having grown up on a mixed farming business out of Moulamein and now residing 100km south, in Barham NSW. She has vast experience in marketing, advertising and business, working for over 15 years in advertising agencies based in Bendigo VIC. She also has a strong background in book-keeping administration & Governance, having worked for the Wakool Shire Council before leaving to pursue an innovative venture with the family owned business, 12 Good Eggs.

Lydia Grant

Community Support Officer

Lydia has an extensive background in venue management, public libraries, and customer service. Lydia has undertaken Post-Graduate Information Management studies with an emphasis in data management, digital archival strategy, business project management, and community programs.

Leona Chan

Media, Marketing & Brand Development Officer

Leona has a Bachelor in Media & Communications, and 5 years of experience working for Australia’s largest outdoor media company. Moving to the local area two years ago, she has worked at the local radio station. Now in addition to WMLIG she supports a local fitness brand with their marketing and content creation. Leona lives on a farm just outside of Barham.
