Luke Shelley from the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) and Cathy Semmler from the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment cover the following.

Cathy Semmler
Department of Planning, Industry and Environment
Cathy Semmler has extensive experience delivering sustainability programs in the public and private sectors. She has delivered natural resource enhancement projects within the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area over many years with an emphasis on native vegetation. Cathy’s current role is Climate Resilience and Net Zero emissions project officer within the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, based in Griffith with her focus on the Riverina Murray. This role enables her to be a catalyst to empower communities and business to deliver place-based change to prepare for the impacts of climate change and to adapt to a low carbon economy.

Luke Shelley
Bureau of Meterology
Luke has been employed at the Bureau for 12 years and currently works in the Agriculture & Water Program. Luke’s role is to listen to the needs of customers in the agriculture sector, and help make sure the needs of agriculture are reflected in the Bureau’s existing products and new service development. Luke recently led a consultation process for the ‘Regional Climate and Weather Guides’ project, and is currently leading customer engagement for the new Climate Services for Agriculture Program under the Future Drought Fund.
